and the floods came up. So, remember how we had been in our new place for a month and loved it, et cetera? Well, now we're in a different place. The heavy rains we got on Sunday soaked our carpet through, so we've moved into a different building in our complex and up on the third floor. Now all we have to worry about are tornadoes! haha, no, seriously. Apparently there are at least a few warnings every year.
Anyway, I have a couple of videos. The first is me showing you the rain and my cute baby reading a book -- blithely unaware that our house would be wet and smelly in a mere few hours. The second is the aftermath.
Many, many (many many) thanks to the Elders' Quorum in our ward for coming to the rescue by packing and moving all of our stuff from one apartment to the other in 2 hours 15 min flat. You guys are amazing.
The new apartment is basically the same as the old one, but with better carpet. So, we won't be getting new carpet anymore, but we don't really need it either. Also, it has linoleum instead of tile, but at least the place doesn't reek like really old, nasty, rotting rental carpet.
Long, long catch-up

Oh, sadness. I do detest floods. I'm glad everything worked out!
Oh wow! Is that because of Ike?
oh, so such a darling baby. I'm lovin' the eyebrows. Jarom says he would like to "eat him up". Abe says, "quick everyone come see: its a stewart family chronicle!", and they all dash in. Mom
Wow! That is too bad. At least they had another apartment to rent out. When we were first married our little house flooded and we had to live with industrial fans blowing for three days to dry the carpet. But the water got into the drywall, and living in So Cal, it didn't dry out enough, I had to wipe the black mold off the wall at least on a monthly basis.
Benjamin is adorable! I'm glad everything worked out w/moving into a new apartment so quickly! Way to go, EQ!
