Haven't done THAT in a while

Today we washed our car. Haven't done that in a while. In fact when my neighbor Erika came over and said she was impressed, I had to disillusion her. I told her this was the first time that I had washed a car as a married woman. Come to think of it, it's probably the first time I've washed a car since high school. What brought on this sudden vigor was that our friends the Richards's just discovered that their car had rusted to death right under their noses. This scared me pretty good as our car is relatively new to us, and I'd like it to last a long, long time. So I did some research on how to prevent that whole rusting thing. Apparently it is brought on by moisture and salt (hmm, no wonder we never worried about it in AZ) and exacerbated by having a dirty car, so you should wash and wax your car regularly! Revolutionary! Okay, to me, anyway.

So, today Jacob got the oil changed and helped me wash the car out in the parking lot. Then he watched Benjamin while I went and vacuumed it (so much easier at a car wash place!) and while I waxed it. Neither of us had ever waxed a car before, and I'm the one who watched two internet videos, so that makes me the expert in the family. :) It was tiring! But hopefully it will be worth it in the long run to make a habit of it.

While Jacob was waiting for the oil change he picked us out a pumpkin and we couldn't resist getting some pictures of Benjamin with it. I've been trying to get him to say "Trick or Treat" but he hasn't got there yet. Not surprising, since his newest word is "meow."

Yeah, this picture was SO cute...before he stood up right as I was taking it. You can see his new molars though!
